The Open University, the University of Southampton, the University of Leeds, and the University of the West of England have been selected to participate in a pilot programme in partnership with Jisc. The project will evaluate Student Voice's AI service for classifying and analysing student comments, with the aim of reducing the time and resource institutions spend on this work.
Student Voice's service processes large volumes of student survey data, such as responses from the National Student Survey (NSS). Using data from over 100 UK higher education institutions, the model allows participating institutions to benchmark their results against the wider sector. The pilot will assess how AI‑assisted text‑analytics can give institutions a more efficient way to gain insights from student feedback and support improvements to teaching and the student experience.
As part of the pilot, participating institutions will receive analysis of several past years of NSS data, providing an opportunity to identify new insights and benchmark results against the sector. Throughout the pilot, institutions will receive dedicated support from both the NCAI and Student Voice teams.
Student Voice will work closely with the Open University, the University of Southampton, the University of Leeds, and the University of the West of England as they evaluate the service and its potential to improve how student feedback is analysed and acted upon.
