QAA micro-credential framework puts learner feedback into course review
Updated Oct 27, 2026
The QAA micro-credential framework gives universities and colleges in Wales and Northern Ireland a reference for reviewing learner feedback. QAA announced the framework on 30 September 2026, alongside other lifelong-learning resources.
What the QAA micro-credential framework recommends
The framework is non-regulatory. It covers credit-bearing micro-credentials across tertiary education in Wales and Northern Ireland.
On learner engagement, it recommends a structured feedback route at the end of a micro-credential, at minimum. A bespoke survey is desirable where practicable. It also recommends sharing feedback summaries and resulting actions with learners.
Course review should consider learner feedback alongside retention and achievement data. The framework recommends at least annual monitoring and review.
