OfS harassment update: a forthcoming call for effective practice
Updated Oct 27, 2026
The OfS harassment update, published on 21 October 2026, says the regulator will contact universities and colleges for examples of effective practice. Its announcement highlights student involvement in training and whether reporting processes work in practice.
What the OfS harassment update announces
OfS reports continuing concerns about clear information, reporting arrangements and protection from abuses of power. It plans to share useful institutional approaches. The request for examples is forthcoming: the blog does not give a submission deadline or application process.
The regulatory context is England. OfS's account of the policy's development confirms that condition E6 came fully into effect on 1 August 2025 for registered providers.
Existing E6 guidance already includes student involvement and evaluation among its illustrative approaches. It also cautions against using incident-reporting rates alone to establish prevalence.
