Student voice selected by the higher education funding council for wales (hefcw) for national student survey data analysis

By Student Voice

Student Voice, the UK's leading provider of text analytics for the education sector, is proud to announce a significant partnership with the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales (HEFCW) to analyse the 2023 National Student Survey (NSS) data across Wales' higher education sector.

Student Voice uses advanced machine learning models to rapidly classify and analyse student comments. This technology will offer immediate, accurate insights into the experiences of students across Wales, aiding institutions in refining their services.

The analysis will include eight higher education institutions, home to over 100,000 students:

  • Aberystwyth University
  • Bangor University
  • Cardiff Metropolitan University
  • Cardiff University
  • Grŵp Llandrillo Menai
  • Open University in Wales
  • Swansea University
  • University of South Wales

Moreover, it will also cover a number of further education providers offering higher education courses, broadening our understanding of student feedback in Wales.

Student Voice's models will enable HEFCW to compare their performance with over 100 other higher education institutions in the UK. Additionally, our technology will facilitate understanding of how student perspectives vary based on factors such as course, age, gender, nationality, and other specific groupings.

It's an honour to work with HEFCW on this important mission. Our platform will provide a comprehensive view of student feedback from the NSS, delivering critical insights into the student experience throughout Wales. We're confident that this partnership with HEFCW will support their continuous efforts to enhance student experience throughout Wales through data-driven decisions
